What kind of negotiator are you? Hello!  This time I am talking about negotiation styles in my blog. We started the lesson by group discussions that were supposed to make us understand what type of negotiators we currently are and what skills we would like to improve. I felt like this exercise was useful as it introduced different dimensions to negotiation and helped to recognize these dimensions in our own life. On the lecture I felt like the accommodating and collaborative styles were the most natural ways to negotiate. However, I think that all the styles are needed and therefore I’d like to improve especially my competing negotiation skills as I believe these skills would be useful in my future career. SkypeSkypeSkype Hello again!  On this post I am going to reflect what it is like to negotiate over the internet e.g. over Skype. As demonstrated on the lesson today, it can be really challenging to make Skype negotiations. However, as mentioned on the lesson Skype interviews are commonplace in workplace and therefore it’s important to acknowledge the pros and cons of having a meeting this way.  We started the lesson by formulating a strategy with my team members for the negotiation. After that we started the negotiation and this is when all the fun started. We had some major technical problems in the beginning as we were unable to add one participant to the call for some unknown reason. However, we eventually started the negotiation by introducing the parties we presented and by telling what amount of money we were asking for.
